Do you want to try embroidery as new hobby? Or do you know someone that would love to try but doesn’t know where to start? This kit is best suitable for an intermediate stitcher or a beginner ready for a challenge. The kit comes with all the necessary instructions and supplies, however some parts of the design might be difficult to follow for a total beginner.

This kit includes:

- a 6” embroidery hoop

- a size 5 embroidery and a size 24 tapestry needles

- a piece of pre-cut natural calico cotton fabric

- a complete selection of the DMC threads necessary for this design

- a list of documents with all the necessary information (a general info guide with info on how to start, close and care for your hoop, a complete stitch guide with useful pictures and a pattern specific booklet with pattern details and a complete step-by-step instructions guide). All documents are in English

- your choice of transfer method: choose between heat erasable pen (where you trace the pattern yourself), pattern preprinted on sticky water soluble stabiliser or pattern preprinted directly on fabric.

Not sure which transfer method to choose? Here are some more info!

Heat erasable pen - you get the pattern to trace on paper and the pen, then you would need to draw the pattern yourself directly on fabric and pen marks will disappear with a heat source such as hair dryer or iron (more tips in the kit booklets). Pros: the pen can be used multiple times; even if you make a mistake you can always redraw it, and if you don’t follow exactly the lines you drew they will eventually disappear so it’s not a big deal. Cons: you will have to do the actual tracing; it is easier than it seems but it can feel intimidating.

Pattern preprinted on sticky water soluble stabiliser - pattern is printed on a special transfer sticky paper, you will need to peel off and stick onto fabric, stitch on top of it and then wash it off at the end. Pros: you don’t have to do any tracing; easy and ready to go. Cons: it is one time use only; it can get the needle sticky and add resistance to your stitching; occasionally some spots might be hard to wash off.

Pattern printed on fabric - pattern is directly printed on fabric. Pros: no tracing needed, no need to erase the marks; it’s super straightforward. Cons: it is one time use as you get only one fabric printed; the ink is not erasable so you cannot change anything in the layout of the pattern and if you don’t follow exactly the lines they might be visible.
